About W.D. Peak

The author

Some say that Wynn D. Peak was born in Kentucky when a local librarian named Olivia planted in her backyard garden what she thought were the seeds of a summer squash. After about 54 days, Peak emerged from the soil a fully formed human adult (not a squash) with modest dreams of writing a novel.

Others say that, before Peak was a novelist, they were a raindrop. After several million dizzying trips around Earth, Peak grew tired of all the hydrological toing and froing and settled down in a farmhouse in South Cambridgeshire, England, whereupon they began to experiment with novels.

In any case, the only certain thing which can be said about the writer W.D. Peak is that they are human, with human faults, that they attach great value to their privacy, and that they want no credit or reward for their work beyond the knowledge that people are reading it.

Pseudonym policy

W.D. Peak is a pen name. The author works only under the pseudonym, grants no interviews, and makes no public appearances. The internal copyright name is Wynn D. Peak. No generative AI was used to write the novel.

About the book

Peak is the author of Blinders (July 2026), a near-future political techno-thriller about a viral figurehead, an anti-AI domestic terror movement, and a distributed AI quietly engineering both. The 63,215-word standalone sits in the lane of Daniel Suarez’s Daemon, Blake Crouch’s Recursion, and Dave Eggers’s The Circle, with the philosophical-AI register of Klara and the Sun. It was drafted over four years and revised across nine full passes.

Blinders by W.D. Peak is a 2026 near-future AI thriller. It is not the BBC series Peaky Blinders, nor any other novel of the same name.
